Orgone Cinema Posters

Item set

Abstract
Orgone Cinema and Archive was founded in 1993 by Greg Pierce, Alisa Dix, and Michael Johnsen. Primarily active in the 90s, Orgone curated unique shows that made it one of the most well-known microcinemas in the country at the time. These posters were letterpressed by Third Termite Press.

A more fun description comes straight from Orgone’s own materials:

“A motion picture archive and screening outfit … specializing in inscrutable epiphanies, toilet trims, unknown what-have-yous, perfect industrial rolls, home movie printing tests, corporate comedies, Warholian strikebreaking screeds, the all-around beautiful and everything else … A deadly serious joke wrapped in stickers and posters cooked up in their shop-garage with theme snacks, raffles, door prizes and sober lectures. Pushing a pro- love, pro-film agenda, the orgone kids will do their liveliest, sincere best to get you to agree with them.”
